Spending time with your bitter half

#shareyourkape #nictoscoffeeshop #yourbitterhalf #kapitolyocoffee

If you are as old as me, you’ll remember that there was a rotunda in Kapitolyo and that there was a stately looking structure where capitol commons is now. Pasig was once the capital of Rizal Province and the Provincial Capitol, you guessed it, was in Kapitolyo. Heck, even after Pasig became part of Metro Manila, the Governor of Rizal’s seat was still here at Kapitolyo. How do I know this? My mom once worked in a PCI Bank Branch and her friends were transferred to the Kapitolyo branch, which was near my alma mater. Thus, there were times when she took me on her visits there. What the hell is a PCI Bank? It’s what we know as BDO today.

W Café Cainta. More of this please.

You find it by seeing a large portrait-oriented tarp of a Frappe — as well as a round sign that only has a red “W” on it. They would have had me with the W. The tarp is there to attract more customers. They need to shout to everyone “we have frappes” or else no one will climb the two flights of stairs to the cafe.

They do have decent espresso though.

A family was buying (beyond) dark roast coffee beans in a grocery store; I was buying sago

You’ve seen those clear boxes section from a major grocery chain, right? Where you can pick dried fish, dried mushrooms, packed beans, and yes coffee beans. BTW, have you tried cooking large sago (tapioca pearls) at home? Dude, it took me about 6 hours in total and it involved a lot of stirring, turning the fire off, straining, and waiting. I digress…

Instant Coffee, is it Kape? Bitterness is not my best friend

#shareyourkape #satchmiteam #satchmistore

Does instant coffee really taste inferior to brewed coffee? I talked extensively about the quality of beans and the instant coffee manufacturers not caring about taste as long as they sell a lot. For actual coffee fanatics (I do not consider myself as one), the difference will be pronounced. But how about average Joes like us?

This is the office instant coffee. The foam means nothing.
