My (unqualified) thoughts about the “Hello” Coffee Scale

It only says “Coffee Scale” on the box. Also sometimes referred to as the Shopee Scale, though I bought mine through Lazada, the “Hello” scale is my first scale to have a built-in timer. I would have loved to tell you I thought hard about buying this, even weighing in on the Pros and Cons, but it wasn’t. I was in Lazada during the 8.8 sale to buy a replacement aircon unit and this scale was suggested to me during checkout. My first scale, that small  chrome bugger, had a bit of water damage. Though it still eventually worked again, I reckoned a new scale would be a good idea as a backup plan.

Writing about Coffee without writing about Coffee

I’m an Apple Fanboy, so much so that I wrote a post about it on this here blog. I’m such a fanboy that I actually do watch the Apple TV+ series such as The Morning Show, Mythic Quest, Servant, and now Ted Lasso. Google Ted Lasso and you’ll see a bunch of positive reviews about it which it rightfully deserves – it’s fun to watch and beautifully shot. My favorite episode so far has been Episode 3 “Trent Crimm: The Independent”. There is not an ounce of coffee mentioned in this episode (though there is a scene with massively spicy Indian Food), but somehow, I’ll still write about it in a coffee blog.

Summer Sports Camps and the V60

#shareyourkape #coffeeoftheday #coffeebloom

When I was young, each one of my parents enrolled me to two summer sports camps: My mother picked swimming lessons and my father picked tennis lessons. I’ll tell you why at the end of this post and believe me you’ll want to know why (it’s good). Of course, I must connect that to coffee first somehow.

Yeah, I may have been slightly obsessed with coffee blooms these past couple of weeks.

Why (I think) Instant Coffee remains relevant

#shareyourkape #antiinstantcoffee #thirdwavecoffee

I noticed something when I re-posted (and boosted) the second part of my “Instant Coffee, Is It Kape?” series on Facebook: there were still some comments encouraging commercial Instant Coffee (yes, some even pushed this popular brand). If you’ve read that piece, I put some effort to try and show how commercial Instant Coffee can be detrimental for the coffee farmers and even the environment, yet people still encourage drinking commercial Instant Coffee in the comments for that post. Look, if you want to drink Instant Coffee then fine – I just want you to know the possible consequences for exclusively drinking commercial Instant Coffee.
