I have been working for 12 years now. I started my first job June 2, 2008 and I was fortunate enough to get a job related to my degree in finance. I was hired as a credit analyst for a Universal Bank, working out of their headquarters along Ayala Avenue in Makati. Come on, that’s a stereotypical job for someone with a degree in Finance in the Philippines.

Those following me on Instagram (@shareyourkape) probably have seen that I was a tad bit too eager to pull the trigger on buying home brewing equipment, not to mention buying coffee beans frequently. Now that I’m working from home, I can’t rely on Baristas to prepare me good coffee anymore due to lockdown and the need to follow social distancing protocols. I also have more time to learn how to make coffee at home, thus I have no more excuses. So although I started the lockdown drinking instant coffee, I knew it wouldn’t be sustainable (and shouldn’t be). But here’s the thing: I’ve been doing this during one of the harshest summers in the Philippines that I can remember, and I’m still drinking hot coffee – and I think it helps.

If you’re following me on Instagram you would have seen me praising almost every new episode of “The Morning Show” (which shall be referred to as TMS moving forward) in my stories. Even when critics were deriding the first three episodes (they were all released at the same time), I was already a fan. And when they started to praise every new one released after that, I couldn’t help but think “I told you so!” but also be happy it’s getting the positive recognition it deserves.
