My (unqualified) thoughts about the Flair Espresso Maker

#shareyourkape #flairespressomaker #eticalifestyleph #properspro

Espresso is a special thing. It sometimes makes an otherwise bad day better, it can make business decisions clearer, and it helps give us those darn beautiful IG worthy latte art. I have been able to get decent coffee at home ever since lockdown started, I have been able to make espresso like drinks with an Aeropress, but proper espresso I thought I would only get when I venture out the house (and Cainta) again. Then Etica Lifestyle messaged me on Instagram and asked me if I wanted to try pulling shots of espresso at home with a Flair Epresso Maker. This isn’t a review, I am not qualified to do one, these are just my thoughts about it as a coffee consumer.

Special, specialty coffee

You’ve probably heard before that smartphone cameras have gotten to a point that you can use it for professional purposes. Well, my friends, I can attest to this because I have actually used an iPhone 6’s (iPhone 6, not iPhone 6s just to be clear or unless you didn’t notice the apostrophe) camera to shoot a short film – an award winning short film in fact. (There will be something about coffee later).

My (unqualified) thoughts about the Timemore Chestnut C2 grinder

#shareyourkape #timemoreph #timemorec2 #doyouevengrindbro

I think me posting that I was still satisfied with my Hario MM-2 small wooden grinder on April 24, 2020 and then ordering a Timemore Chestnut C2 grinder only weeks later – that sums up how quickly upgrades on home brewing gear has been during the Enhanced Community Quarantine for everyone. If you’ve been reading this blog, you already know I’m just a coffee consumer so take whatever my thoughts/opinions are about this grinder with a grain of salt, or coffee if you want to be cheeky about it.

How to start your coffee journey? Figure out if you like coffee

#shareyourkape #coffeejourney #coffeeonlock

One day you’ll wake up, boil water for instant coffee, and then out of the blue say: “Hey! I want to begin my coffee journey!”. You then go to social media, join a coffee group, and ask: “Hey! I want to begin my coffee journey! Any suggestions?”. You’ll then get inundated by a plethora of suggestions that you probably won’t know what to start with. Here’s another one, whether you agree with it or not and decide to follow, that’s up to you. I just need to write content for this blog, so…

Do you need a TDS meter for coffee at home? Not really, but they’re not too expensive anyway

Focus but not the kind that coffee helps you to do

#shareyourkape #auduncoffee #coffeecat

The world (as of this writing) is just starting to get back to normal – or at least parts of it. The Philippines, where I live, has relaxed some restrictions. The country had to undergo one of the longest lockdowns in the world, and so we’ve seen an increase in people interested to brew at home. I am one of them. I even have a jug that filters water just for my coffee, and a meter to test if it’s still working. The TDS meter, BTW, helps because I know I don’t have to change the filter yet because the water still has the same TDS. However, this also tells me that there wasn’t that much need for the filter because apparently my water was soft enough anyway. In any case, it’s an additional filtration system for water so better safe than sorry I guess?
