It’s almost Christmas and like Trump still saying he won’t ever leave the White House, 2020 keeps reminding us how bad of a year it has been. If you think otherwise (that 2020 is actually not a bad year), you’re either part of the lucky few who were barely affected or you’re selling something based on the “hustle” culture.
Look, I know I wrote a rambling post about some coffee gear being overpriced. Although I didn’t name it then, I was thinking about the Fellow Stagg EKG as the really expensive electric kettle when I writing that – and now I just bought one. So maybe I’m just a hypocrite? Let’s find out.
Yep, the black kettle’s going to be a part of the @shareyourkape IG now
It’s almost the end of the year, and of course it’s year-end review time – hooray (read that in the most sarcastic voice you can imagine). 2020 was the most consistent year for shareyourkape.com, talking about blog post frequency. So, it’s not surprising that it has also been the year with the most views (2019 was not even close). In previous years, the first part of my Instant Coffee series was my most viewed post. This year, by a landslide, it has been “My (unqualified) thoughts about the Timemore Chestnut C2 Grinder” which was only published this June 2022.
For some strange reason, I’ve recently been suggested a handful of YouTube videos that discuss the Juicero. It’s this sleek looking juicer, that was heavily backed by some big companies. You can say it’s like a coffee pod machine, though it was more like those Flavia machines that I only got to try during a visit to the company’s global headquarters. These circumvent being tagged with the notorious “instant” moniker by being (supposedly) a middle ground. See it does give you actual fruit and vegetable juice, but it comes in packets. The packets thing is why I say it’s more like a Flavia. Compared to the Flavia, however, the Juicero was somehow “weirder”.
I’ve been using my new el union mugs non-stop since getting them.
With our company announcing that work from home will be extended beyond January 2021, the interest to add to my home coffee equipment just keeps increasing. This doesn’t mean I’ll be buying any of these immediately: these are things that I wish I could own someday. It’s just nice to think about owning things that when you do have the opportunity to get them, you feel so fulfilled and accomplished.
Still looking to brew manually mostly (cup from tasa.atbp)
