My top post for 2020 is about a grinder (the Timemore Chestnut C2 Grinder)

#shareyourkape #timemorec2 #timemoregrinder #timemoreph

It’s almost the end of the year, and of course it’s year-end review time – hooray (read that in the most sarcastic voice you can imagine). 2020 was the most consistent year for shareyourkape.com, talking about blog post frequency. So, it’s not surprising that it has also been the year with the most views (2019 was not even close). In previous years, the first part of my Instant Coffee series was my most viewed post. This year, by a landslide, it has been “My (unqualified) thoughts about the Timemore Chestnut C2 Grinder” which was only published this June 2022.

a reminder to apply an adequate level of scrutiny

#shareyourkape #latteartnoob

For some strange reason, I’ve recently been suggested a handful of YouTube videos that discuss the Juicero. It’s this sleek looking juicer, that was heavily backed by some big companies. You can say it’s like a coffee pod machine, though it was more like those Flavia machines that I only got to try during a visit to the company’s global headquarters. These circumvent being tagged with the notorious “instant” moniker by being (supposedly) a middle ground. See it does give you actual fruit and vegetable juice, but it comes in packets. The packets thing is why I say it’s more like a Flavia. Compared to the Flavia, however, the Juicero was somehow “weirder”.

Coffee Wishlist as of 2020 (except there wasn’t a list prior to 2020)

#shareyourkape #lakbaybrew #drinkkaperesponsibly

With our company announcing that work from home will be extended beyond January 2021, the interest to add to my home coffee equipment just keeps increasing. This doesn’t mean I’ll be buying any of these immediately: these are things that I wish I could own someday. It’s just nice to think about owning things that when you do have the opportunity to get them, you feel so fulfilled and accomplished.

My (unqualified) thoughts about Lilydrip (this one the GIO)

#shareyourkape #lilydrip #lilydripgio #timemore

“You will never want to not be upgrading”. Now that saying can be used either as a positive or a negative, depending on the agenda of who’s saying it to you. It’s mostly associated with tech (because it’s the most obvious area of application for it) but when you really think about it, that applies to almost everything – even ourselves and yes, coffee. At the end of the day, being stagnant about something is almost as bad as chasing every upgrade you don’t need.

Early thoughts about the Timemore (White) Black Mirror Scale – by someone not qualified to review it

#shareyourkape #timemoreblackmirror #timemorecoffeescale #lakbaybrew

The closest things to reviews I do on coffee equipment is when I write one of those “My (unqualified) thoughts…” and they are what the title implies: thoughts about the product by someone unqualified to do a review about them. I want to use whatever equipment as much as I can before I write my thoughts about it, but I just got this Timemore (white) black mirror scale and I just can’t wait to share my initial thoughts. So now, if I haven’t used an equipment for more than 10 times (and I’m too excited about and have nothing else to write), I’ll just write one of these. Here are my initial thoughts about the Timemore (white) black mirror scale – basic version.
