My (unqualified) thoughts about the “Hello” Coffee Scale

It only says “Coffee Scale” on the box. Also sometimes referred to as the Shopee Scale, though I bought mine through Lazada, the “Hello” scale is my first scale to have a built-in timer. I would have loved to tell you I thought hard about buying this, even weighing in on the Pros and Cons, but it wasn’t. I was in Lazada during the 8.8 sale to buy a replacement aircon unit and this scale was suggested to me during checkout. My first scale, that small  chrome bugger, had a bit of water damage. Though it still eventually worked again, I reckoned a new scale would be a good idea as a backup plan.

An Amazon Prime Video series, and then I try to connect coffee to it

Have you watched Amazon Prime Video’s series (a monthly subscription is cheaper than Netflix), The Boys? It’s a parody on the superhero genre where the superheroes know they’re better than normal people and thus know how to abuse their powers. We all like superhero movies (when done right) but think about those storylines where some government agency is concerned about these overpowered individuals and who will stop them when they go rogue or when someone points out how they aren’t thinking about the collateral damage they cause when doing their super hero stuff.

Just some light rambling ahead

Coffee On-demand?

UK-based Sandwich Empire Pret a Manger (or simply Pret) has rolled-out a new monthly coffee subscription service. This coffee subscription, from a sandwich shop, allows members to get cups of coffee everyday (capped at a certain number per day) by just paying an upfront amount once every month. American Sandwich shop, Panera bread, also came up with something like this only difference was that it was rolled out before the pandemic we are currently going through. Heck, now even Leon (healthy food shop also based in the UK) has also rolled out a coffee subscription service – reportedly even cheaper than Pret’s.

Writing about Coffee without writing about Coffee

I’m an Apple Fanboy, so much so that I wrote a post about it on this here blog. I’m such a fanboy that I actually do watch the Apple TV+ series such as The Morning Show, Mythic Quest, Servant, and now Ted Lasso. Google Ted Lasso and you’ll see a bunch of positive reviews about it which it rightfully deserves – it’s fun to watch and beautifully shot. My favorite episode so far has been Episode 3 “Trent Crimm: The Independent”. There is not an ounce of coffee mentioned in this episode (though there is a scene with massively spicy Indian Food), but somehow, I’ll still write about it in a coffee blog.

Summer Sports Camps and the V60

#shareyourkape #coffeeoftheday #coffeebloom

When I was young, each one of my parents enrolled me to two summer sports camps: My mother picked swimming lessons and my father picked tennis lessons. I’ll tell you why at the end of this post and believe me you’ll want to know why (it’s good). Of course, I must connect that to coffee first somehow.

Yeah, I may have been slightly obsessed with coffee blooms these past couple of weeks.
